What are the differences between C8, C6 and Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent for the fabrics?

1. Effect: As we all know, C8 and C6 Water Repellent belong to fluorine waterproofing agents, while Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent belong to Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent . Normally, C8 waterproofing agents are superior to C6 and Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent , and C8 and C6 have waterproofing and oil-proofing effects, while Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent only have single waterproofing function, namely C8 waterproofing > C6 > Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent ;

Environmental protection: On April 1, 2015, the latest environmental protection requirements of OEKO-TEX Standard 100 stipulate that the contents of PFOA and PFOS in fluorine-based Water Repellent must be less than 1ug/, while the contents of PFOA and PFOS in C8 waterproofing agents exceed the standards seriously and do not meet the environmental protection requirements, so they are forbidden to be used. However, the content of PFOA and PFOS in C6 Water Repellent can not be detected, which is below the detection limit of 1ug/, so C6 waterproofing agent is environmentally friendly and meets all kinds of international environmental protection requirements. So the Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent is undoubtedly environmentally friendly, because it completely does not contain PFOA, PFOS;

3. Sensitivity to fabrics:
If there are some impurities in the fabric, then the Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent is more sensitive, that is to say, impurities have the most serious impact on the waterproofing effect, followed by C6, C8 will be slightly better. Similarly, the sensitivity of three kinds of products to fabrics was C8 < C6 < Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent .

4. the same fabric needs the same amount of water to achieve the same effect: if the same fabric needs to achieve the same effect with the three Water Repellent , then C8 < C6 < Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent in terms of usage;

5. the process: C8, C6, Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent in the process has no obvious difference, basically need to be baked to produce cross-linking effect. Through the analysis of the above aspects, we know the advantages and disadvantages of three kinds of products. Yes, C8 waterproof effect is remarkable, but because of environmental problems, it can only be replaced by C6 and Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent .
