What is the T400 fiber?

LYCRA® T400® fiber delivers excellent performance and aesthetics in applications that require low to moderate stretch. It's a multi-component yarn in which different polymers are joined together within each filament. When exposed to heat, each polymer shrinks to a different degree, producing a smooth helical crimp. Because the crimp is not mechanically induced, the stretch and recovery of LYCRA® T400® fiber is greater and more durable than those of textured yarns. The regularity of the crimp accounts for the improved fabric aesthetics.

LYCRA® T400® fiber has excellent resistance to chemicals, including chlorine, and UV radiation. Dyeing characteristics are similar to that of textured polyester.
